Our dogs:
We have an Appenzell, Jinger, one of the Swiss Mountain Dog breeds. She is very much a farm dog and her first and clear job is to protect her herd / farm. Our vet best described her temperament as “stranger – danger”. Anything / anybody new to the farm she considers a threat to her farm until she knows otherwise. To anyone new – she will bark and not greet you with open arms – until she knows you are safe. As with any dog of this type let her get to know you. She is not an attack dog but will make a strangers presence known with her barking. Simply let her get to know you by your actions.
Our Vizsla, Chief, (little red) passed away. His favorite thing, other than your undivided attention, was helping Bob trim a hoof. He was a friend to all :))
Miss me a little, but not for long
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared,
Miss me, but let me go!
RIP Chief 5/2/2010 - 1/29/2021, We miss you !
